Against The Wrestler On Academy Awards

Petition to express our shock, outrage and disbelief over the complete idiocy of those who vote for the Academy Awards reflected by their "snugging" of Bruce Springsteen's title song from the film, "The Wrestler."

We, the signers of this petition, believe most firmly and with such conviction, that the song, "The Wrestler," is so integral to the telling of this story that without it, "The Wrestler" would be incomplete.

We also beleive that confusion over the convoluted and easily misinterpreted Academy Awards rules set to the "Best Song" category, voters who would normally have given "The Wrestler" the necessary minimum amount of vote support, were misguided and confused.

We, the signers, believe that this confusion should, at the very least, necessitates a second vote in the category of "Best Song" for a Motion Picture in 2008!!!

Barring that....by signing my name to this ePetition, I agree to protest this extreme oversight by agreeing to refusing to watch the broadcast of the Academy Awards ceremony on the evening of February 22, 2009. It is out hope that this boycott initiative will result in a most dramatic drop in the expected viewership of this once venerable awards ceremony!!!
