Kenya has a worldwide reputation for its long distance runners and is rated Number 1 in the world on long distance races.

Kenyan runners have won every major marathon in the world since 1968 and has recently won the 2008 Beijing Olympics Marathon with a New World Record.

However, these runners remain unrecognised at home and although are heroes out there, there is a need to have them entrenched in our culture as our heroes.

This peition is calling for support and assistance to be provided to local authorities to erect lasting memorials for these local sporting legends.
