No Palm Oil Fuel

Helsinki City Transport says they would like to increase the use of palm oil as fuel. This type of fuel will be widely used in bus and heavy vehicles.

In 2008, the World Bank reported that the deforestation was 2.6 billion tons a year. To use palm oil as fuel, there will be more and more rainforests destroyed in South East Asia especially in Malaysia and Indonesia, the world largest palm oil producers, causing large amount of CO2 produced in return and destroyed millions of wildlife habitat.

While in the process of limiting the emission of CO2 from vehicles, this plan even creates more CO2 in the countries and devastating the effort in battling climate change.
