Wed, 26 Aug 2009 RoentgenBatch2000 I support this petition. @anthony magsino: this isn\'t a complaint, this is a principled stand. it\'s not just a name change. well, for people who do not value the prestige, legacy, honor, tradition and excellence that comes with the name of the school, then yes, it\'s just a name change for you. But assuming that the rest of the community are narrow-minded with this issue, still Mayor Lim cannot change the name of the school, because the name was a result of a legislative charter, not just some city mayor\'s declaration. If Mayor Lim wants that, he will have to initiate a legislation, which will definitely die a natural death once it reaches HOR.

I may not be a graduate of that school, but I see why its students/alumni wouldn\'t want that. I have nothing against the Mayor\'s support of Cory Aquino, but to change MaSci\'s name would be overdoing it. If he wants a school named after the former prsident, why don\'t he open a new school for that?
