I think mayor Lim cannot unilterally change the name of manila Science because it is not within his powers to do so. It has to go through an ordinance to be enacted by the sangguniang panglungsod, which will be later on signed and approved by the mayor. maybe it would be better to present this issue before the sanggunian members of manila. anyway, without an ordinance changing the name of masci to cory aquino hs, mayor lim cannot really act on this issue.

I am a proud alumna of Manila Science High School and therefore I am strongly against the renaming of our beloved alma mater. The name Manila Science High School is not merely just another high school name. It represents all the hardships and dedication of each and every teacher, student, and staff, who had become a part of this institution. It did not take them overnight to put the school's name into its place right now. Therefore it would be inconsiderate enough to just change the name, Manila Science High School, into a new one.
