The Continuing Education Department of the TDSB has mandated that the International Languages Program, a non-curriculum program, be imposed on our children during the school day. For 2.5 hours per week, our children will be in a class that is not under the School Principal's authority, and for which they will receive no curriculum credit.

This program should be moved to after school or weekends as it is in many other schools that have this program. If you agree with this statement, please sign the petition as they will be sent to the Ministry of Education and the Toronto District School Board to have the program offering moved outside of the core learning period.

I support this petition. In addition, if the program exists at all, and there are two languages offered, they should not be both from one country. So if Madarin is to be taught, there could also be a course for Spanish, which has far greater significance for most Canadians due to our proximity with the United States and the rest of the Americas.
