Women and Men Should Be Equal In Term Of Salary Pay
Petitioning: U.S. Senate
Petitioner: Paula Diaz started on February 12, 2009
When it comes to job, women tend to get lower salary compare with men even if both have the same position in the company.
Statistic shows that women lose $434K income over a 40-year period. It is so crucial that the gender should not be discriminated in term of salary pay especially during the economy crisis. Therefore the Congress has adopted the Paycheck Fairness Act, now we are only waiting for the Senate to give a green light.
With this Act approved, employers have to show the difference of the salary between 2 genders who hold the same position. This can further prevent the salary discrimination and the employers can set some fund aside to train the women about salary negotiation.
Let's urge the Senate to act fast and stop the salary discrimination now!
